Welcome to Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, home of the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing and the largest military air show in the nation. This year’s air show is scheduled from Sept. 22 – 24, 2017.
The theme for the 2017 MCAS Miramar Air Show is “A Salute to Vietnam Veterans.” Our Air Show is not only an open door to the local community, but it also provides us an opportunity to recognize and honor the tremendous sacrifices made by our Vietnam veteran brothers and sisters. Their service was largely underappreciated during a time when support for the military was not as prevalent as it is now. Nevertheless, these brave men and women demonstrated their character and values by donning the uniform and serving the nation they love.
We are also pleased to celebrate another year showcasing the U.S. Navy Blue Angels demonstration team and welcome back the Patriots Jet Team. Both jet teams are sure to impress in what will be thrilling performances of fast-paced, formation flying and choreographed aerobatic maneuvers. Additionally, MCAS Miramar is honored to host an amazing line up of civilian performers, including Sean Tucker’s “Oracle Challenger,” John Collver’s “Wardog,” the Shockwave Jet Truck and Steve Stavrakakis’ “Tribute to Vets.”
